Anti-Imperialist Politics from an Anarcho-Communist Perspective
Putting my biases on the table up-front so you know what to expect.
Welcome to the ProPeace Report by me, Kobi Azoulay. I’m an indie journalist travelling the world and writing about politics from an Anti-Imperialist Anarcho-Communist perspective along the way [insert McCarthyite gasp].
Breaking through corporate censorship is the future of new media and I’m just doing my part from the outside looking in. We should be writing about what we see in the world and how we feel about it, not whatever will make money or what we think audiences want to hear. The popular opinion isn’t always the correct one. The opposite is often true. We can’t be afraid to cut across the grain. Journalists should speak *truth to power,* not roll over and appease.
Journalism isn’t about the false concept of objectivity, but the idea of speaking truth as you see it. With my biases up front for you to consider, you can read my work knowing that I don’t intend to mislead you. See what facts I work with and how I feel about them, then form your own conclusions. Give me feedback. That’s how this should work. To portray politics in a “neutral” light is to mislead audiences into what objective truth really is. We all live subjective realities with differing concepts of morality and our journalism inherently reflects that, whether we realize it or not. Our biases are subtly revealed by the issues we cover, the evidence we use to discuss them, and the conclusions we form as a result.
In political journalism, to be neutral is to take the side of the oppressors.
